Designer Textiles
In keeping with our efforts to use the best materials possible, our designer textiles are high grade fabrics designed to wear well, yet remain attractive over time.

Cadet Stripe & Stripe Peacock
Dutch designer Hella Jongerius is recognized as one of the world's top designers in furniture and product design. Her work has been commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art in NY and the London Design Museum. These designs are some of her initial forays into textile design and incorporate innovative techniques using old textile mills to achieve these designs.

EcoStripe new for 2008
New for 2008, the EcoStripe is a 100% eco-friendly and sustainable textile. It is made of 87% post-industrial recycled polyester and 13% post-consumer recycled polyester. It is also made using low energy and low emissions processes. It is highly stain resistant and anti-microbial. Clean with a water-based solvent (e.g., Tide with water) but do not over-wet and do not use spot cleaner solvents on this material.

Eco Carbon
This iridescent synthetic is simply amazing. It's basically waterproof, very easy to clean, and most importantly, is very environmentally friendly. It is a biodegradable synthetic that is over 99% solvent free. Acme Made is very proud to be using such a fabric. Additionally, it is rated at over 50,000 "double rubs" and will not crack down to 20 degrees below zero.

Telun - "Vulcanized Canvas" new for 2008
One of the most unique textiles that we use, Telun is designed and made exclusively in Italy. It is an all-natural canvas with a black "vulcanized" or rubber-like PU coating on the face with the natural canvas on the reverse - thus, we try not to using lining on bags made with Telun in order to highlight both sides of this incredible material. The black PU coating does mark and change with use as that is a quality of the material. It is practically water and stainproof on the outside and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth or mild soap and warm water.

Natual Italian Canvas new for 2008
Probably the finest canvas available, we purchase our canvas directly from Italy. It is a beautiful weave that is slightly heavier and more durable. It is coated for stain resistance but can be cleaned with a damp cloth or mild soap and warm water.

Acme Made Woven Nylons (chili peper, chocolate brown, etc.)
Nylon is a very common material used on more bags than probably any other material available because it can be very inexpensive, lightweight and highly durable. But there are tremedous differences between qualties of nylon based on the weave being used, the backing material and the thread itself.

Therefore, in order to differentiate Acme Made materials as better quality we actually custom produce our own nylons in Korea and Italy to ensure that our standards are maintain that our colors are richer and more unique, and that the materials have the proper amount of stain and water repellency. Further, we do not use PVC backing in our materials as this is known to cause problems to the environment. We back our woven and ballistic nylons with poly urethane (PU) or other more eco-friendly materials.

Fabric Care
Use a mild, pure, water-free dry cleaning solvent and pre-test your cleaning method in a small, unnoticeable area. The key to removing stains is always prompt action. the longer the stain remains on a fabric, the more difficult it will be to remove.
